The CF District Board of Trustees approved the college’s annual budget on June 24, keeping tuition rates flat for all degree and certificate programs in support of the state’s priority on no tuition increases. This year’s tuition rate continues CF’s ranking as one of the most affordable colleges in the country.

“Three-quarters of �㽶��Ƶ graduates leave the college with no student loan debt,” said Dr. Jim Henningsen, CF president. “Keeping college affordable is a priority at CF, and our students graduate with jobs, not debt.”

CF consistently ranks among the top 7% of colleges in the nation for affordability, according to the U.S. Department of Education. The cost for associate level courses is $112.92 per credit hour, or approximately $2,710 per year for a student with a 12-credit course load for two semesters. The cost for a bachelor’s level course is $129.27 per credit hour, or approximately $3,102.48 for a student with a 12-credit course load for two semesters.

CF’s tuition is about half the cost of a public Florida university and only 13% of the cost of a private Florida university.

At this event, future students can apply to the college with no fee, start the financial aid application, speak with advisors about program and degree options, and tour the campus. The college will give away free CF merchandise and attendees may enter to receive a scholarship to cover tuition for one class at the in-state rate. Students also may choose to take a placement test, which starts promptly at 8 a.m.

The first ceremony at 10 a.m. will recognize graduates receiving baccalaureate degrees, Associate in Science degrees, and certificates. The second ceremony at 2 p.m. will celebrate graduates receiving Associate in Arts degrees.

The $7 million project will provide expanded cardiac and medical simulation space for future EMTs and paramedics to gain hands-on experience in realistic settings that include an apartment, ambulance and emergency room.

Attendees will be invited to tour the classrooms and simulation labs where emergency responders will train with high-fidelity patient simulators and virtual and alternate reality technology.

The Appleton Museum of Art is open to the public Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, noon-5 p.m. The museum will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The Webber Gallery on the Ocala Campus will host “Trains at the Holidays,” open Dec. 19-31 from 10 a.m-4 p.m., with Christmas Eve hours of noon- 3 p.m. and closed Christmas Day.

This newly established endowment reflects a generous commitment from HUGS Charities to both student success and the future of compassionate cancer care and is named in memory of Mary Alice Adkison, who served as a founding member of HUGS Charities. The scholarship will provide lasting financial assistance to BSN students, helping to offset the cost of tuition and other educational expenses. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing careers in oncology nursing.
